Smith & Wesson handcuffs

Smith & Wesson is one of the most recognizable brands of police equipment. They have been manufacturing police equipment since the late 1800’s. Smith & Wesson is best known for their firearms, but they also manufacture some of the best police handcuffs.

When a police officer puts a pair of handcuffs on a suspect, the police officers wants to have confidence in the handcuffs. Confidence in the strength, quality, and reliability that will keep the officer safe and the suspect secure. There is no better assurance of that than by using the Smith & Wesson handcuffs. Smith & Wesson handcuffs are made with the finest carbon or stainless steel. All handcuffs, restraint chains and leg irons feature heat-treated internal lock works with double locks to prevent tampering. All of the Smith & Wesson handcuffs and restraints meet the NIJ Standard for strength.

Smith & Wesson manufactures their handcuffs in two styles; chain linked or hinged. Both types are available in stainless steel, nickel, or blue finishes. The handcuffs are also available in standard size or oversized. The oversize handcuffs make it easier for a police officer to use on larger wrists.

In addition to the handcuffs, Smith & Wesson manufactures police belly chains, restraint belts, and a transport restraint chain. The police belly chain comes standard with a pair of Smith & Wesson handcuffs attached to it. The police belly chain is great for walking prisoners around.

The chain restraint belt is 60" long and has a satin nickel finish. The chain restraint belt can be used with any pair of Smith and Wesson handcuffs and comes in handy when transporting or detaining subjects.

The transport restraint chain uses a combination of Smith & Wesson handcuffs and Smith & Wesson leg irons, both in satin nickel finish. The chain length between the handcuffs is 32". This chain provides the ultimate security when transporting prisoners.

Smith & Wesson offers a handcuffing course to police officers. The course is designed to certify the officer as an instructor in handcuffing. The course content includes the following: care and maintenance of handcuffs, tactical positioning, case law, custody death syndrome while handcuffed, and the proper application and release of the handcuffs.

Smith & Wesson has been manufacturing police equipment for quite some time. Although they might be best known for their firearms, the Smith & Wesson handcuff  and police belly chain are great products to have in your inventory of police equipment.
